The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) announced that nonprofit organizations, state and local agencies, and higher learning institutions are eligible to compete for funding up to $300,000 for delivering entrepreneurship training to women service members, women veterans and women military spouses.
Up to six awardees will receive a total of the aforementioned funding amount in grants administered by the SBA’s Office of Veterans Business Development for participating in the Women Veteran Entrepreneurship Training Program. The funds are intended to cover costs of education women service members, women veterans and women military spouses who are currently or interested in starting their own business.
“Women veteran entrepreneurs have contributed in a major way to the growth of the U.S. economy, bringing in $10 billion in receipts over a five-year period,” said Larry Stubblefield, Associate Administrator for SBA’s Office of Veterans Business Development. “The SBA is committed to supporting women veterans with the training and resources they need to start, grow, or expand a small business.”
NAWRB intends to submit their application to the funding competition in order to help women veterans, service members and military spouses achieve their goals relating to their small business. NAWRB currently holds an IDIQ contract for Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) Training with LA County, and has a decade of experience growing and strengthening businesses for sustainability through D&I Training, technology development and financial literacy.
