In addition to a cup of coffee, NAWRB kicked off our Wednesday with an incredible sheCall, Ready, Set, Grow! Living in the “I Can Consciousness – Knocking the ‘t’ off of Can’t” Works!, featuring NAWRB Certified Delegate Spokeswomen Rosalind Booker, Principal Broker-Owner, Arbrook Realty and Terry Rasner-Yacenda, Broker/Owner, Reno/Tahoe Realty Group, LLC.

During today’s call, Rasner-Yacenda interviewed Booker on the power of mindset and self-belief in a person’s life and career.

Booker began with her background in real estate, securing her first job at a property management company after arriving to the interview—having driven from Oklahoma to Texas—an hour late due to a rainstorm. Fortunate to have great bosses and mentors along the way, Booker once asked why she had been hired over other candidates. Her superior’s answer? She was hired because she was poised and teachable; two characteristics she holds dear to this day.

Building on this, Rasner-Yacenda questioned what traits Booker believes people value most in the workplace, and if there are differences between men and women. Booker replied that although she may change her approach with a man, at the end of the day authenticity is what people love. She lets her clients know that she cares about their needs and is not just a one-time transaction coordinator.

Booker sees herself as a “midwife,” someone who helps people birth dreams and build legacies. Just like a midwife is responsible for making sure a baby is delivered safely, it is her job to help clients successfully achieve the American dream and buy their home.

One of Booker’s most important tenets, the “I can” consciousness empowers people to believe they can achieve what they envision; it’s all about living intentional and living on purpose. We must own our intentions in order to make them a reality.

When asked by Rasner-Yacenda, Booker affirmed that taking care of ourselves is an everyday practice, especially emphasizing the importance of giving ourselves permission to take the time to do so. Personally, Booker enjoys window shopping and exercising two to three times a week as a couple of ways to unwind and recharge.

In conclusion, Booker reiterated that the world drags us along if we don’t have goals, and that we should not set a ceiling on our dreams. A poignant statement among her incredible advice, she stated that we can give others permission to pursue their dreams by following our own, that the best thing we can do for others is set an example through the way we live.

Remember to unleash your power, dream out loud, and live out loud. Greatness awaits those who are bold enough to make their dreams a reality.
