Women in the Housing & Real Estate Ecosystem (NAWRB) is proud to announce that NAWRB Diversity & Inclusion Leadership Council (NDILC) Member Teresa Palacios Smith has been named Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer at HomeServices. Teresa previously served as Vice President of Diversity & Inclusion for the franchise’s networks since 2017. Her new role will include elevating, expanding and aligning the national scope and impact of HomeServices’s collective diversity and inclusion initiatives across its company and subsidiaries.
“HomeServices has been, and always will be, dedicated to respecting and reflecting the rich diversity of the numerous markets and communities we serve as we look to provide and expand the opportunity of home ownership to all communities fairly and without bias, whether intentional or unconscious,” stated Gino Blefari, Chief Executive Officer of HomeServices, in an official announcement. “We are fortunate to have Teresa’s energy and passion leading the way.”
Prior to joining HSF Affiliates, Teresa was a successful real estate agent and served on the Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Georgia Properties management team. Teresa currently serves on the board of many of the nation’s top housing organizations whose focus is on supporting and expanding opportunities in real estate for women and people of color. Teresa is a past president of the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals (NAHREP), one of the largest minority associations in the country and also co-founded the NAHREP-Atlanta Chapter.
In 2019, Teresa received the National Association of Women in the Housing & Real Estate Ecosystem (NAWRB) Diversity Leader Award and in May of 2018, she was honored by RISMedia with the Newsmaker award and was inducted in the inaugural Hall of Fame class with executive chairman Ron Peltier. Teresa is a national speaker and trainer focusing on emerging markets, unconscious bias and real estate trends in the diverse market segments.
Congratulations, Teresa, from NAWRB and NDILC! We are honored to have you on the Council, and appreciate your contributions to D&I in the industry, as well as the expertise you bring to the NDILC. You are a passionate champion for D&I, and we look forward to seeing your growth in your new position on the HomeServices executive team!
