Washington, D.C. – Representatives ofThe National Association of Women in Real Estate Businesses (NAWRB) traveled the nation nearly ten days straight, closing the week, June 9-11, in the nation’s capital, at the Power of One conference hosted by the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO). A Distressed Services Industry association, NAWRB represented its members to the women in business community at large, participating in discussions vital to small business growth and sharing the Organization’s expertise: supplier diversity fulfillment, bringing together communities, reducing vacancies, resolving code violations, and the creative expansion of women businesses.

Women business leaders and public figures attending the conference applauded the Administration’s renewed efforts for awarding five percent of government business to women business enterprises (WBE), but confirmed that much work remained to ensure WBE access to the Federal market.

Immediately before the D.C. conference, NAWRB exhibited in Dallas, Texas at the REO Expo conference held June 5-8. A new and exciting outlet for industry networking and professional development, NAWRB participated in the inaugural event showcasing the Pinnacle Awards from brokers to servicers and lenders, and detailed the Organization’s stabilization efforts in high-foreclosure neighborhoods.

NAWRB spearheads community stabilization through its two flagship programs: the non-profit Community Enhancement program which identifies and restores vital public spaces in neighborhoods with high rates of foreclosure, and through CityServ, a NAWRB service free to city code enforcement divisions. The latter connects loan servicers and local municipalities, reduces outstanding code violations, and facilitates operational effectiveness between owners, lenders, city governments, and loan servicers. Both services are at no cost to cities, maximizing local impact and helping economic recovery in America’s neighborhoods.
