What can companies do to help their working moms? Working Mother Magazine recently compiled a list of the 100 best companies for working families and mothers in 2016, elucidating just how much companies can do to support their workers with children.
As with diversity and inclusion (D&I) and the movement for increased paid family leave, the professional landscape is adapting, evermore respectful to the necessities of workers. Companies are realizing the value of retaining excellent workers and making sure they feel valued and satisfied.
Paid family leave is no longer the benchmark for great companies, the top 10 firms on Working Mother Magazine’s list go so far as to allow their employees to decide the manner in which they take their leave. Employees have the ability to break up their time by using some now and the rest later, and they can even modify it with a part-time or work-from-home schedule.

- 100 percent offer paid maternity leave, compared to 26 percent of the U.S.
- 100 percent offer telecommuting options, compared to 60 percent of U.S. companies
- 95 percent provide mentoring programs, compared to 21 percent of the U.S.
- 99 percent have stress-reduction programs, compared to 6 percent of the U.S.
