September 22 is American Business Women’s Day, a day that commemorates and celebrates the legacies, achievements and contributions of American working women and business owners. The day’s first observance was sponsored by the American Business Women’s Association (ABWA) in 1982, and in 1983 and 1986 it was recognized by Congressional resolution and a proclamation from President Ronald Reagan.
Home Prices Rose 6.3 Percent in the Past Year
According to the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) seasonally adjusted monthly House Price Index (HPI), U.S. house prices increased .2 percent from June to July 2017. The monthly index calculates home prices by utilizing mortgage information from Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae. From July 2016 to July 2017, house prices in the U.S. climbed 6.3 percent.
