Women Impacting Public Policy International (WIPP International) has announced that President Jennifer Bisceglie will participate in the Women-20 (W20), a recently-formed engagement group dedicated to advocating gender equality and inclusiveness.
On their website, the W20 articulate, “Women make up over half of the world´s population, but their contribution to economic growth is far below its potential. Gender inequality also restricts development and poverty eradication efforts in developing countries. Ameliorating these imbalances is vital for growth and development in our countries, and for the overall health of the world economy.”
Formed under the Group of Twenty (G20), an international forum centered on its members’ economic collaboration for the betterment of the global economy, the W20 held their official launch event on September 6, 2015 in Ankara, Turkey.
The list of featured speakers included numerous world leaders such as, Christine Lagarde, Angel Gurría and Arancha González. The opening event also hosted three panels titled, “Women and Technology,” “Women in the Financial World” and “Women and Trade.”
The inauguration proved a promising beginning for W20, and the group will convene next at the W20 Summit, scheduled to take place from October 7-8 in Istanbul.
As an advocate for women-owned businesses in housing and a leader in diversity and inclusion, NAWRB is proud to see Jennifer Bisceglie take part in such an important and historic group and movement. We support the vision and mission of the W20 and trust that their efforts will help equality and inclusiveness prosper worldwide.
