It’s the most wonderful time of the year! We hope that 2019 has been a year of new friendships, accomplishments, learning, growth and self-discovery. The unemployment rate, or the jobless rate, dropped 0.2 percentage points to 3.5 percent in September 2019, marking the lowest rate since December 1969, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). When discouraged workers and the underemployed are factored in, the rate has still declined 0.3 percentage points to 6.9 percent, matching its lowest in almost 19 years and near the all-time low of 6.8 percent.
Today marks National Senior Citizens Day, which recognizes the achievements of the older population in the United States in appreciation of the dedication and services they have given throughout their lives. In honor of this day, the U.S. Census Bureau has released key statistics about the growing older population.
Today marks World Population Day, an annual event that has been observed on July 11th every year since 1989. The event was established by the Governing Council of the United Nations Development Programme, and it seeks to raise awareness of global population issues.
Did you know that the world population is currently at 7.58 billion? Current estimates by the Census Bureau predict that the population will reach 8 billion by 2025. In honor of this day, the U.S. Census Bureau has released fascinating facts about the U.S. and global population.
May is Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, dedicated to the celebration of Asians and Pacific Islanders in the United States. In 1978, the first 10 days of May were selected to honor Asian/Pacific American history; in 1992, Congress expanded the observance to the entire month of May.
There are plenty woman-driven moments worth celebrating this year. From opportunities to highlight initiatives to advance in Olympic sports, corporate boardroom, red carpet Oscars, and Congress, women are leaving a stalwart trace of power, closing the year 2018 strong.
In Congress, women comprise an impressive record-setting number of 108 held seats in, about 20.2 percent of the 535 members.
With 49.6 percent of total world’s population of women, we continue to be the guiding force committed to shining a light on empowering female role models in an effort to inspire more women leaders.

The U.S. Census Bureau just released findings on the rapidly growing older population, of adults ages 65 and older, in a report. Due to a trend of lower birth rates and longer life spans, the growth of the older population now exceeds the total population and the population of citizens under the age of 65.
