The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) has announced matchmaking events throughout 2015 which will expand the American Supplier Initiative. Created in 2012, the American Supplier Initiative supports American manufacturing by investing in the small businesses that comprise America’s suppliers.

The initiative works twofold: small business will have better access to major company supply chains, and large companies will be able to diversify their suppliers while tapping into the innovations of entrepreneurial small businesses.  Small businesses have garnered a widespread presence in the U.S. and continue to grow. According to the SBA, small businesses make up 99.7 percent of U.S. employer firms.

The matchmaking events through the expanded American Supplier Initiative will be held in cities throughout the nation where suppliers will have the opportunity to meet federal and corporate suppliers. The SBA states that the events are free and open to the public.
