The National Women’s Business Council (NWBC) is conducting two research projects concerning women in business. The first project analyzes women’s participation in corporate supplier diversity programs and the second focuses on women’s participation in business accelerators and incubators.
The NWBC is working with NewPoint, LLC. to conduct the Corporate Supplier Diversity study which will investigate the opportunities women business owners have when accessing and utilizing corporate supplier diversity programs to expand and propel their businesses.
For the Business Accelerators and Incubators project the NWBC is partnering with Washington Core. This study will address women’s participation in business acceleration and incubation programs, with the objective of understanding which characteristics influence the business outcomes of female entrepreneurs.
The NWBC highlighted the innovation of these ventures in their bulletin, “This project is groundbreaking – it will be the first time the federal government has undertaken a study to recognize the vital role of the corporate market in supporting the growth of women-owned businesses.”
