Congresswoman Maxine Waters (D-CA) has once again been selected alongside Congressman Jeb Hensarling (R-TX) to lead the House Financial Services Committee. Waters, who was unanimously reelected for the position by the Democratic Caucus, will be entering her third term as Ranking Member.
Maxine Waters has dedicated her career to providing a voice for disadvantaged communities. As the author of Dodd-Frank Section 342, which established the Office of Minority and Women Inclusion (OMWI) for regulated entities, Waters is continually contributing to the diversity and inclusion (D&I) movement and fighting for minorities’ and women’s equal opportunities.
To see a leader like Waters at the helm of the House Financial Services Committee is heartening to NAWRB’s community and our mission of advocating on behalf of women and women-owned and small businesses in the housing ecosystem. By protecting these groups and American consumers, we can help them achieve financial success.
Maxine Waters was a speaker at the inaugural NAWRB Conference and most recently provided NAWRB Magazine readers with an OMWI Update.
