Today marks a momentous victory for the Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB) Procurement Program. The National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) granted the WOSB Procurement Program sole source authority which provides equality with other small business procurement programs.
Realizing the previous lack of sole source authority, Women Impacting Public Policy (WIPP) spearheaded the issue more than 14 years ago to help create the results that are seen today. It was WIPP’s goal to ensure a viable procurement program for women-owned small businesses. However, the process to sole source authority has been lengthy. But, WIPP and women small business owners have put up a strong fight.
