The Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) has released its second quarter Foreclosure Prevention Report showing that Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae completed a total of 48,760 foreclosure prevention actions in the second quarter of 2017.
The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) has launched a new lending tool helping connect small businesses and lenders. The new tool, Lender Match, connects entrepreneurs to over 800 SBA lenders in an effort to increase access to capital. The program is an upgrade to LINC (Leveraging Information and Networks to access Capital), which was introduced as a pilot in 2015.

Today, the Subcommittee on Housing and Insurance held a hearing to review the Family Self-Sufficiency Program (FSS), a program that helps “enables HUD-assisted families to increase their earned income and reduce their dependency on welfare assistance and rental subsidies.”

In their first national survey on financial well-being, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) has found that over 40 percent of U.S. adults have a hard time making ends meet. Utilizing a 10-question survey, the National Financial Well-Being Survey provides the “first-ever national data directly measuring the financial well-being of U.S. consumers.”

September 22 is American Business Women’s Day, a day that commemorates and celebrates the legacies, achievements and contributions of American working women and business owners. The day’s first observance was sponsored by the American Business Women’s Association (ABWA) in 1982, and in 1983 and 1986 it was recognized by Congressional resolution and a proclamation from President Ronald Reagan.
